When spec’ing its new heavy rescue, the Hickory (NC) Fire Department chose a 22-foot aluminum SVI body mounted on a 20-inch-raised-roof Spartan Gladiator chassis, which houses a 505-hp Cummins X15 engine. This heavy rescue comes with SlideMaster structural-steel slide-out trays, an Audiovox Voyager heavy-duty rear-view camera system, Warn 9,000-pound 12-VDC electric winch, OnScene Solutions LED compartment/ground lighting, and more.
