The Kerhonkson (NY) Fire Department’s heavy rescue R-33-10 is the former San Antonio (TX) Fire Department‘s Rescue 1, Kerhonkson is a small rural department in the town of Kerhonkson in Ulster County, New York. The rig is a 1998 E-ONE Cyclone heavy rescue walk-in. It carries two Hurst tools, rams, spreaders, cribbing, two sawzalls, large PPV fan, and multiple type 5 water rescue vests. The walk-in portion has a fire extinguisher and all our rope rescue equipment, which is five 100-foot bags, two chainsaws on it, and multiple hand tools. It is the 2nd largest truck in Ulster County, the first being City of Kingston’s tiller Ladder. The truck was brought over from San through the efforts of life member Wayne Depew, who passed from cancer in February 2013. A plaque dedicated to him is on the rig.
