2018 Pierce Arrow XT 2,000/500 Pumper

Engine 11 began service with The Colony (TX) Fire Department on May 9, 2019.Engine 12 in the same spec was placed into service on May 15, 2019.The cab/chassis is a Pierce Arrow XT (flat roof) with seating for five and a forward-facing EMS cabinet mounted on the right cab wall. A Coleman Mach 3 AC unit (13,500-Btu) mounted over the center of the crew area provides auxiliary temperature control when the apparatus is not in use. The apparatus is constructed of galvanneal with full-depth compartments and Amdor roll-up doors. Additional SCBA storage is located adjacent to the rear wheel wells.

Power is provided by a Cummins ISX 12 500-hp engine and an Allison 5th Generation 4000 EVS 6-speed transmission with pushbutton controls. The TAK-4 Independent Front Suspension System is featured as is the Pierce Command Zone advanced electronic and control system. The apparatus has a Waterous single-stage, 2,000-gpm pump with a 500-gallon “New York Style” polypropylene tank.

The hosebed is covered by 4-section aluminum tread plate, and the hosebed carries 800’ of 5-inch LDH, 400’ of 2½-inch preconnected hose, two 2½-inch preconnected lays (200’ each) and 200’ of 1¾-inch preconnected hose. The front bumper tray carries 100’ of 1¾-inch hose with a gated wye connection on the outlet. Twenty feet of 5-inch LDH is stored in the “California” style front bumper notch. Crosslays (2 with 200’ each of 1¾-inch hose) are located in an open compartment behind the cab. Two sections of 5 inch LDH are stored in running board troughs on each side of the body. “Denver” style hi-rise packs (four 50’ sections of 2.5 inch hose) are carried on the right side of the body. An Akron Model 3433 Hi-Riser monitor with Akron Model 2499 Quad Stacked Tips and an Akron Model 3488 Shaper is mounted above the pump. Duo-Safety ladders (28’ 2-section 1200-A, 16’ roof 875-DR with hooks on both ends, and 10’ folding 585A) are mounted to a Zico Quic-Lift on the right side of the body.

Warning lights include a Whelen Freedom IV-Q LED Lightbar (72 inch), two Whelen Micro Freedom Model MCFLED2 lights on the rear corners of the body and Whelen M6 and WION LED lights on the apparatus body. Scene lighting is provided by Whelen Pioneer PCPSM1 lights mounted behind the crew doors and Pioneer PCPSM2 lights on each corner of the rear body. A Whelen Pioneer PH2 light is mounted on the cab brow. Audio warning devices include a pedestal mounted Federal Q2B siren on the left bumper area and a Whelen Model 295SLSA1 electronic siren module connected to a Whelen SA315P 100-Watt speaker mounted through the center of the front bumper.
