Wayland Fire Department (IA) Receives Grant for Backup Generator

The Wayland Fire Department has received an Enhanced Henry County Community Foundation grant to purchase a new backup generator, reports KCII Radio.

The $3,000 grant will help replace the current generator which has required multiple repairs. The project will cost about $10,000 total. In addition to the grant, the fire department has contributed more than $1,000 and the city will cover the remaining cost.

The installation of the generator is dependent on weather.
