Sindh government has sanctioned Rs 3.5 billion for purchase of fire fighting equipment including fire tenders and snorkel for the metropolis but the procurement process halted due to a stay order issued by the court in this regard.
Provincial Minister for Information Sharjeel Iman Memon in a statement issued Saturday said that the chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah had sanctioned the fund for purchase of fire tenders and snorkels to overcome shortage of the firefighting vehicles and equipment in Karachi but the procurement process was stayed by the court.
