Santa Barbara (CA) Gets New Fire Equipment

Santa Barbara City firefighters will be receiving new breathing equipment.

The department will receive 85 new breathing units that are being paid for by a grant that totals more than half a million dollars–making it the largest grant ever received by the fire department.

The Santa Barbara City Council approved the money from the Department of Homeland Security.

The self contained breathing units currently used by the department are more than twenty years old.
