OK Fire Department Seeks to Distribute Donated Fire Equipment

Burns Flat Fire Department made the following Facebook post Thursday, Sept. 5:

Burns Flat Fire Department has received a load of used fire equipment that it will disperse to departments in need. This is possible because of the generous donations from departments and foundations from the East Coast. A special shoutout goes to Somerdale Fire Department and the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund for the donations and collecting of this much needed gear.

This equipment is available free of charge and available on a first come, first served basis. Please contact Chief Haden at 580-660-1457 for information and to come look and pickup gear.

Somerdale Fire Department made the following Facebook post Wednesday, Sept. 4:

“We are proud once again to be able to help out our American brother and sister firefighters in Oklahoma. Surplus and ‘date coded’ equipment that had no longer been in use from all over our region will go on to equip several departments all over the Western Oklahoma Region. While this time we served mainly as a collection point we were excited to see what a difference it makes. Special thanks to all that donated equipment. New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland fire companies and the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund Delaware Chapter.”
