The Mount Dora Fire Department was awarded a $6,800 grant to purchase a Laddermill, a piece of free-standing exercise equipment with rotating climbing walls.
“Our firefighters have a labor intensive and very physically demanding job,” Mount Dora Deputy Fire Chief Tim Griner said. “The Laddermill will not only help us maintain our fitness but will also allow us to practice an essential job skill conveniently inside our fire station.”
The Laddermill comes courtesy of the Mount Dora Community Trust, which has collected funding for local educational, charitable and benevolent projects since 1972. The trust provides programs to schools, charities and civic causes through the actions and financial support of Mount Dora residents and businesses committed to promoting the community’s unity and prosperity.
