Knoxville (IL) Gets Donation for Fire Equipment

A donation of $10,000 has been made to the Knoxville Fire Department for the purchase of new fire equipment, reports The Register-Mail.

The trustees believe this to be the largest non-memorial donation the KFD or the district has ever received.

Equipment purchased included the following:

— High-volume, rechargeable, battery-powered, professional grade fire fan to remove smoke in a structure following a fire

— Three rechargeable, battery-powered, portable spotlights to be used at a fire or emergency scene

— Eight air tank brackets for fire trucks to hold air tanks until needed by firefighters

— One new state-of-the-art thermal camera

— Rechargeable and battery-powered Green Custom Landing Zone Kit for safe landing by helicopter rescue after dark.
