Irondale (AL) to Purchase Rescue Equipment with Grant

The Irondale Fire Department (AL) was awarded a $12,882 federal grant that will be used to purchase new equipment.

The Operations and Safety Grant will be used to purchase rescue equipment and a thermal imaging camera, fire Chief Randy Davis said.

The department received the grant through the Assistance to Firefighters program, which is administered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Funds awarded under the program are used to meet the firefighting and emergency needs of fire departments and non-affiliated medical services organizations, according to a news release.
