R•O•M Corporation introduced the R•O•M LED V3 Lightbar, designed to be waterproof to the IPX7 rating, meaning it can be used for compartment lighting or in exterior locations.
The company said the LED V3 exceeds requirements of the National Fire Protection Association 1901 apparatus standard.
“Our LED V3 Lightbar is the culmination of nearly a decade of experience in providing lighting solutions to the fire service,” said Steve Touchton, R•O•M’s emergency and specialty products manager. “We introduced our first light in 2001 and our first LED solution in 2005. So we know the needs of the industry.”
He said R•O•M surveyed the industry over the past year and worked with engineers at emergency vehicle manufacturing companies to create a waterproof, modular lightbar that meets customer demands and is priced right.
At the heart of the system, according to Touchton, are 6-inch and 12-inch modular components that snap together to form one-piece continuous lighting up to 96 inches (which can be extended by adding end block terminals).
The system features a streamlined optic lens and lower profile to help eliminate damage. The LED modules snap into an integrated roll-up door track or are pre-installed in an anodized aluminum track for mounting as stand-alone units.
