The Greeley (CO) Fire Department announced on Facebook recently that Atmos Energy had donated $15,000 worth of equipment to the department’s technical rescue team that will enhance its ability to provide mechanical stabilization during a variety of incidents such as trench rescues or building collapses.
Representatives from Atmos took a few minutes out of their day and joined the fire department at Fire Station 5 to see this new equipment and take a tour of the Collapse Rescue truck.
“Our group had a great time talking with one another and learning more about how each other’s roles can work in tandem out in the field,” the department said in a Facebook post. “We are proud of the partnerships we share with organizations like Atmos Energy and honored to work alongside them in providing our community with outstanding service.”
The donation is just the latest show of good will from Atmos in a long-standing relationship between the natural gas distributor and the Greeley Fire Department, according to a story in the Greeley Tribune.
Greeley Donates Extrication Equipment, Hose to Flagler Rural Fire Protection District
As the Greeley Fire Department continues to update the specialized equipment used on its trucks, the department strives to make sure the tools being replaced don’t go to waste, the department said in a Facebook post Thursday, Jan. 23.
“This month, GFD was welcomed by members of the Flagler Rural Fire Protection District as we delivered a truck-full of extrication equipment and wildland hose to be given a second life in their community,” the post said. “These instruments will be used and shared among neighboring departments to enhance the region’s capabilities during their emergency responses. We are honored to support the work they do and the dedication they have to those in need.”
Flagler Rural Fire thanked Greeley for the donation.
“This equipment will be used to help us and other local departments that don’t have any of this gear,” Flagler said in a Facebook post. “We are grateful for the generosity and their teamwork in helping us protect our residents and travelers on our highways and roads.”
