The Glastonbury Fire Department said it has made some protocol changes, specifically when responding to 911 calls, reports Eyewitness News 3.
When someone dials 911, dispatchers and firefighters now ask a series of questions. Specifically, if the person seeking help has traveled outside of the country and has a cough, a head cold or a fever.
Other impacts are that the department is facing a shortage of gloves and is waiting a new shipment. The first stations have also been closed to the public.
