Two new flashlights by Streamlight have entered the market, the PolyTac and the PolyTac LED.
The PolyTac has a high-performance xenon incandescent bulb, while the LED version is equipped with the latest in C4 power technology. Each light weighs only 3.9 ounces and can be carried in a pocket or on a belt.
“These lithium-powered polymer lights offer exceptional durability and brightness,” said Ray Sharrah, the company’s chief operating officer. “The LED version uses a power LED which provides two to three times the output of Super High Flux LEDs, and the xenon model offers super-bright light as well.”
The incandescent xenon PolyTac provides 6,000 candela peak beam intensity and 72 lumens measured system output, while the LED model offers 4,800 candela peak beam intensity and 120 lumens. The incandescent version uses a 6-volt xenon bulb; the LED version features a C4 shock-resistant LED bulb with a 50,000-hour lifetime.
The xenon model offers an adjustable head allowing for variable spot-to-flood focus. It provides 80 minutes of continuous runtime to the 10-percent output level, while the LED version offers 3 hours of continuous runtime to the 10-percent output level.
Both flashlight bodies are made of tough nylon polymer for durability and grip and each light features a tailcap push-button switch for one-handed operation. Both use a pair of three-volt lithium batteries with a ten-year shelf life.
The PolyTac retails for $52, and the PolyTac LED for $65. Both lights come with a limited lifetime warranty.
