Feb. 12—HARRISBURG — More than $250,000 for fire departments and emergency medical service providers is part of a group of state grants announced this week by legislators.
Fire departments and emergency medical service providers in the 53rd state House district have been awarded a total of $121,791 in grants from Pennsylvania’s Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, state Rep. Steve Malagari, D-53rd, announced Tuesday.
“Our fire and EMS companies work tirelessly to keep our residents safe, which is why I work hard in Harrisburg to make sure that state grant dollars like this flow back into our communities where they can make a difference,” Malagari said. “These grants represent a significant investment in the resources necessary to ensure the safety and security of our community.”
EMS and fire companies in the 70th state House district were awarded a total of $137,000 in state funding to support their work, according to state Rep. Matt Bradford, D-70th.
