Grant Awarded to Thayer (AR) Fire Department for Fire Apparatus

The USDA has awarded the Thayer Fire Department a $150,000 grant to purchase a fire truck, reports Areawide Media.

The USDA is investing over $2.3 million to assist eight rural Missouri communities. The fire departments include: Carrollton Leasing Association, Inc., City of Bloomfield, City of Buffalo, City of Butler, City of Houston, Rocktown Fire Corporation and Senath Municipal Improvement Corporation.

The Thayer Fire Department currently uses a 1985 pumper, which the fire chief has been looking to upgrade.
