Columbus Division of Fire Making Changes to Preserve Medical Supplies

The Columbus Division of Fire has made changes to try to preserve the amount of supplies available to its first responders, reports The Columbus Dispatch.

Emergency medical crews had responded to 133 patients in the past seven days who were showing signs or symptoms of possible coronavirus infections. There have been 1,344 such patients since the beginning of 2020.

The fire division is asking its paramedics who are responding to a possible COVID-19 case to have one person in protective gear, such as a gown, gloves and goggles, and approach the patient to ask questions.
