The Bastrop City Council approved a $2.8 million certificate of obligation bond for a 100-foot Mid-Mount Aerial truck, a pumper truck and other needed equipment, reports The Statesman.
At a total cost around $1.7 million, the aerial truck will include a 37-foot ladder that will be able to discharge 1,500 gallons of water per minute from its bucket while firefighters control it remotely from the ground. And with a 10-foot clearance, the reduced size of the truck will lend it to maneuvering Bastrop’s tight city blocks.
