Advance Fire (IN) Receives Funds for Fire Equipment

Firehouse Subs, a nationwide chain of restaurants founded by two firefighters, has donated $11,200 to the Advance Volunteer Fire Department for new equipment.

The department, which covers dozens of square miles with two stations in western Boone County, will buy three portable radios with the donation that was presented by Firehouse Subs representatives on Feb. 5.

Since the chain established its Public Safety Foundation in 2005, it has distributed $8.3 million to first responders and public safety organizations in 39 states and Puerto Rico, including more than $200,600 to Indiana groups.
