Job Shirt Delivers ASTM-Level Resistance to Blood-Borne Pathogens

Coatesville, PA—Gerber Outerwear’s SX Soft Shell Job Shirt uses cutting edge fabric technology to provide ASTM 1671 Level BBP protection.

The SX Soft Shell Job Shirt’s outer shell is made of BioTex Barrier Fabric. The BioTex Barrier Fabric has been independently tested to and meets the requirements of the ASTM F 1671 Test Method for Resistance of Materials Used in Protective Clothing to Penetration by Blood Borne Pathogens.

BioTex Barrier Fabric is waterproof, windproof, breathable, and blood-borne-pathogen-resistant. This lightweight fabric provides an effective barrier against all types of inclement weather, while still allowing hot, humid air to escape. Despite its soft feel, BioTex Barrier Fabric is tough enough to stand up to rugged use.

In addition to the BBP protection the SX Soft Shell Job Shirt incorporates several additional features that add to its function and comfort.

  1. Elasticized draw cord waistband with adjustable barrel clips
  2. Adjustable cuffs
  3. Scotchlite reflective piping
  4. Segmented mic strips on the shoulders
  5. Oversized set-in hand warmer pockets and zippered set-in chest pockets

The elasticized draw cord waistband with adjustable barrel clips, and adjustable cuffs keep weather out and provide a tight seal against potential blood-borne pathogens. Scotchlite reflective piping around the shoulders, across the chest and back enhances visibility in low-light and nighttime conditions. Oversized set-in hand-warmer pockets keep hands protected while the zippered set-in chest pockets provide storage for small items.
