Los Angeles City (CA) Fire Department Unveils Robotic Firefighting Vehicle

The unit is called the RS3, and it is a robotic firefighting vehicle, and it was recently unveiled by the Los Angeles City (CA) Fire Department. From a release on the department’s Facebook page, the unit is a Thermite RS3, a robotic vehicle that can perform multiple functions, especially at complex and extended commercial and industrial fire incidents where it can be used to keep firefighters out of harm’s way.

The RS3 was purchased and donated to the Department by the LAFD Foundation. It will be assigned to a Downtown fire station as part of an Urban Search and Rescue component.
