The Augusta (GA) Fire Department recently unveiled three new pumpers and a mobile unit to the community.
The “Mobile Emergency Operations Command” unit includes cameras on teh side; a 360-degree camera that extends up to 10 feet; adn a tablet-controlled, tethered drone that can fly up to 150 feet. The fotokite drone has infrafed capability and is expected to be beneficial for search and rescue operations.
The new pumpers will replace units manufactured in 1989, 1990, and 2001.
The command unit was $1.15 million, and each fire apparatus was $575,000.
