Texas EMT Dies After Ambulance Accident

A Burnet County emergency medical technician (EMT) died after his ambulance rear-ended an 18-wheeler along State Highway 29, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Public Safety.

Authorities said the crash happened around 9:10 p.m. Friday along the 19600 block of the eastbound lanes of West SH 29 near the Williamson/Burnet County line. The crash happened between Liberty Hill and Bertram.

The tractor trailer, which was traveling eastbound, had stopped on SH 29 in the left lane to turn left. That is when the ambulance rear-ended the tractor trailer, sending it into the ditch facing eastbound.
