None Hurt as Burning Maplewood MN Bus Rolls Toward Fire Apparatus

The Minnesota State Patrol says no one was injured when a school bus started on fire in Maplewood, reports CBS Minnesota.

The bus fire — captured by MnDOT traffic cameras — started at about 2:45 p.m. near Interstate 94 and Century Avenue North.

According to the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District, the bus driver was exiting off I-94 at Century Avenue when he smelled smoke coming from the bus. He then immediately pulled over, placed the bus in park and exited safely. No kids were on the bus and the driver is fine.

The bus rolled toward a fire truck that backed up just in time and the bus came to a stop on the side of the road.
