Pierce Velocity Heavy Rescue Fire Apparatus

The heavy rescue, in service with Clearwater (FL) Fire & Rescue (CFR) , is built on a Pierce Velocity chassis, the standard for CFR engine company apparatus purchases for the past four years. This ensures standardization for all cab equipment, radio, and computer placement, along with a common wiring and layout for fleet services mechanics. The unit also features a Cummins ISL 450-hp engine, Allison 3000 EVS transmission, Jacobs engine brake, exhaust routed vertically through body to top of vehicle, 259-inch wheelbase, 56,300-pound GVWR, three-person seating arrangement, and a Will Burt Night Scan light tower mounted on roof of cab.
