Grant Provides Emergency Response Capability For School District

Jamison, PA., September 7, 2011 – The Warwick Township Police Department has utilized a recent grant award to upgrade the emergency response procedures for Central Bucks School District and the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology. Fire Planning Associates, a local Bucks County technology provider, worked with Warwick Police and surrounding municipalities to utilize their state-of-the-art Blazemark™ pre-planning program to provide first responders with incident action plans.

The Blazemark database will be accessible to police, fire, EMS, and school staff serving the jurisdictions in the Central Bucks School District. Hard copies of the documentation will be provided, but the primary retrieval method for this important information will be through a secure web site accessed through existing lap top computers in emergency vehicles. This information will allow for a more efficient, effective response to a critical incident at a school facility.

The end product developed by Fire Planning Associates, Incorporated (FPA), of Washington Crossing, Bucks County, PA. follows the National Fire Protection Association Standard 1620 “Standard for Pre Incident Planning” will be maintained, and the product will be National Incident Management System-Incident Command System- compliant. The development process will be handled by professional engineers and staff of FPA.

The grant valued at $180,500.00 is funded by the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant and administered by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. Warwick Township will be the recipient of the grant and staff will manage the grant process and work with FPA until completion.
