Intergraph Debuts Dispatch Software

Issue 11 and Volume 14.

Intergraph computer-aided dispatch systems have been deployed at two airports and in the city of Richmond, Va., improving security and reducing response times.

The company also announced a new version of its software, I/CAD version 9.0, which features “improved interoperability and map incorporation capability.”

Intergraph’s latest mobile application, Mobile for Public Safety, is an extension to the CAD solution. It includes new, intuitive, role-specific user interface templates. The application also supports consumer maps from Microsoft Virtual Earth.

Intergraph recently deployed systems in the nation’s capital at Ronald Reagan Washington National and Washington Dulles International airports. The system improves the ability to dispatch emergency assistance at both sites, according to the company. Intergraph transportation security technology is used at a number of U.S. airports, including Chicago’s O’Hare International, San Francisco International and Seattle-Tacoma International airports.

With the aid of Intergraph, the City of Richmond, Va. has automated transmission of its security alarm alerts directly to public safety answering point CAD systems in an effort to reduce emergency response time. During its two-year pilot program, this innovation eliminated over 6,000 phone calls from residential and commercial security companies.

Call takers no longer need to manually gather and input alarm alert information. Instead, the new alarm event data is processed by the CAD system as a call-for-service that appears instantly in a radio operator’s dispatch queue for assignment to first responders.
