Braun Delivers Milestone Ambulance To Miami-Dade

Issue 9 and Volume 13.

Braun Industries, Inc., manufacturer of quality, handcrafted ambulances, unveiled its 5,000th production unit during the Fire-Rescue International Conference in Denver last month. It was built for the Miami-Dade (Fla.) Fire Rescue Department.

Braun, headquartered in Van Wert, Ohio, built its first ambulance in 1972, and its 5,000th is a custom-built Super Chief with a large interior, more than 73 inches of headroom and storage areas for equipment. It’s mounted on a Spartan Furion chassis with cab-over-engine for increased visibility, maneuverability and interior space for up to six crewmembers.

The ambulance features a special red and white color scheme and was built for Miami-Dade Station 3, which honors the heroes of the Fire Department of New York City who lost their lives during Sept. 11. Station 3 ambulances are the only red and white units in Miami-Dade’s fleet.
