Pierce Manufacturing has announced that it has met National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus 2003 Edition.
This certification is conducted through Underwriters Laboratory (UL). It is a third-party, independent bumper-to-bumper audit certification of all Pierce apparatus, regulated from design through production and testing, according to Pierce.
Continuing To Lead
The certification includes all design, production, operational and performance testing of each apparatus. Stages of testing include road, pump, weight, brake, performance, and aerial application.
“By certifying and third-party auditing for the NFPA Standards for Automotive Fire Apparatus 2003, Pierce continues to lead the fire and rescue industry with innovations and commitments to safety,” said Pierce President John Randjelovic. “Pierce makes the significant commitment to achieve compliance so customers are assured that they are receiving the best quality and highest safety apparatus possible.”
