FireWhat iPhone app supplies firefighters with critical information about wildland fires across the nation. The app provides life-saving information for firefighters, responders, and residents of fire-prone areas. Current weather conditions at the scene of major incidents, perimeter tracking, and Google Map imagery direct responders and commanders to areas in highest danger. These features give responders visibility of homes in the area, creeks for water sources, and areas for staging before they even arrive on scene. With this app, firefighters and commanders will be able to make prearrival considerations, allowing more time for critical life-saving decisions. The app also features a suite of wildland applications for firefighters in the field. Common guides, safety check lists and procedures, and fire calculators have been built into the app.
The Chameleon® chemical suicide detection kit is designed for an easy-on/easy-off fit on the wearer’s forearm and can be worn over most turnout gear or level-A suits. The sensors change color when toxic gases are present and require no power source or calibration. The system is designed to military standards for use in a wide variety of operating environments. The Chameleon detects gases and vapors in the air where other technologies only detect hazards in liquid or aerosol forms. Gaseous forms of toxic chemicals are the most likely danger to first responders, police, and fire personnel. The Chameleon Chemical Suicide Detection Kit contains sensors for high pH (base), hydrogen sulfide, low pH (acid), phosphine, and sulfur dioxide.
Liberty™ Multiband Land Mobile Radio (LMR) has completed Project 25 Compliance Assessment Program (P25 CAP) testing for both trunking interoperability and performance. Thales’s Liberty LMR enables multiagency communications in all of the public safety frequency bands (136-174 MHz, 380-520 MHz, 700 MHz, and 800 MHz) in a single portable radio. It operates in P25 conventional, P25 trunked, and legacy analog modes with Output Feedback Data Encryption Standard (OFB DES), Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), and Over-the-Air-Rekey (OTAR) for secure communications. Mil-spec-rugged, the radio is submersible to two meters. The radio and supporting ancillaries are available for purchase through GSA Schedule GS-35L-0001L and DOI contract GSTFMG-BPA-09-0012.
Pelican 1910 and 1920 LED flashlights are suitable for general use in almost any setting because both lights feature a removable metal clip and are weather-/corrosion-resistant with an extremely tough, Type II Anodized, “no-slip” matte finish on their CNC-machined aluminum bodies. Powered by a single AAA alkaline battery, the Pelican 1910 LED weighs 1.4 ounces (with batteries) and has an LED that shines 39 lumens for one hour of battery run time. Weighing in at 2.2 ounces (with batteries), the Pelican 1920 LED uses two AAA alkaline cells and a single next-generation LED to emit an ANSI FL-1 standard 67 lumens for nearly three hours of run time.

Fire Hunter® USA boot is for structural firefighting. The 11-inch boot is certified to both structural National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1971, Standard on Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting (2007 ed.), and liquid splash NFPA 1992, Standard on Liquid Splash-Protective Ensembles and Clothing for Hazardous Materials Emergencies (2005 ed.). The boot is constructed with HAIX’s new Sun Reflect leather that reduces the heating effect of the leather by direct sunlight, while at the same time providing leather that is water-resistant and breathable. The lower 11-inch profile offers an alternate fit for those who are not comfortable wearing a taller 14-inch boot. The CROSSTECH® inner liner features the HAIX® Secura Liner® which will never pull out or wrinkle up over time and offers additional protection from chemicals and body fluids.
Magnalight combination mount LED beacon provides a powerful signal and versatile mounting. The Magnalight 9200-LED-S-M Sunction/Magnetic Mount Beacon has 32 LEDs for intense signal generation, and it includes a combination suction cup/magnetic mount base for secure and versatile temporary mounting. Powered by a cigarette plug adapter and easily switched between mounting locations, this amber LED beacon is suitable applications where a powerful but portable strobing beacon is needed. Incorporating two 50-pound grip magnets beneath two high-strength suction cups, this light can be affixed to any smooth surface as well as ferrous metallic surfaces. Thirty-two one-watt LEDs provide 32 watts of signal power, generating a 10-joules-per-flash signal that is visible for extended distances, even in poor visibility conditions.
Hurst Jaws of Life SC-357 and SC-557 combination tools perform spreading and cutting functions. The cutting force and blade opening of these tools are similar to modern cutters and the spreading force is similar to a lightweight spreader. SC-357 specifications are: cutting classification of A7/B7/C7/D7/E7, spreading distance of 14.4 inches, spreading force of 9,442 pounds, pulling distance of 14.9 inches, pulling force of 12,814 pounds, length of 30.6 inches, height of 6.7 inches, width of 8.7 inches, and weight of 32.7 pounds. SC-557 technical specifications are: cutting classification of A8/B9/C8/D9/E9, spreading distance of 16.9 inches, spreading force of 10,566 pounds, pulling distance of 12.4 inches, pulling force of 15,062 pounds, length of 33.1 inches, height of 7.5 inches, width of 11.6 inches, and weight of 43.7 pounds.
1460TOOL mobile tool chest features a two-level, extra deep, fully customizable tray system that lifts out of the case on reinforced stainless steel brackets. The trays, with their interchangeable dividers, accommodate a wide variety of configurations to protect and organize standard hand tools and accessories that mechanics and service technicians use in the field. When the case is properly closed, its lid works with the tray system to form a seal that secures all parts inside so that the case can be flipped upside down and the contents will stay organized. Additionally, the lid opens up 180 degrees to form a wide stable base. Standard features include a lid equipped with a polymer o-ring for a dustproof and water-resistant seal, as well as two dual-action latches that have been tested to withstand nearly 400 pounds of pressure (but open with a light pull). To add another level of security and discourage break-ins, the 1460TOOL also features two stainless steel padlock protectors.
Family of six side turn lamps offers a variety of mounting designs and connector options. The six new LED side turn lamps come in three styles, each with a choice of either male pin or hard shell connectors. The grommet-mount version works well for traditional applications and direct replacement of existing grommet-mount installations. The integrated flange-mount version is low-profile, easy to install and comes with a matching mounting pad to absorb stress due to flex from the mounting surface or torque from mounting fasteners. The compact surface-mount version has the smallest footprint, lowest profile and lightest weight, allowing flexibility for all mounting environments. In addition to enhanced electrical design and functionality, the styling is forward thinking as well. The size and shape of the lamps follow the most up-to-date industrial lighting design trends, including smart, aerodynamic shaping, and hidden LED electronic circuitry.

Plastix Plus fabricates custom consoles and compartments with CNC (computer numerical controlled) machines and by using a thermal welding process. Plastix Plus uses Vycom’s Hitec® HDPE for emergency response vehicles and military equipment. Vycom’s Hitec HDPE ½-inch matte finish black works best for these applications, because it is chemical- and abrasion-resistant, easy to weld and fabricate, and has a texture that prevents tools from sliding around. With a limited lifetime warranty against warping, rotting, or fading, the toughness and durability of Hitec HDPE also eliminates the degradation and rot that wood compartments and racks go through. Hitec is a member of Vycom’s Corrtec family of chemical and corrosion resistant materials.
