Kochek’s compact gate valve

Kochek Co. is producing a new compact, lightweight 2½-inch threaded gate valve.

The durable aluminum body is powder coated for corrosion resistance and weighs only 4.2 pounds. The non-rising stem with crank handle takes less than nine full turns to open or close, making it an excellent shutoff valve to reduce hydrant main damage and control water hammer.

Kochek said the compact valve is ideal for all fire and industrial applications. 

Kochek, based in Putnam, Conn., is the nation’s largest manufacturer of PVC light-weight suction hose and a wide variety of strainers, dry hydrants, elbows, adapters, caps, plugs, and valves.
