Debuting at FDIC 2012 is the Task Force Tips (TFT) GF-Force nozzle. TFT designed the nozzle for the global market, so it meets all European standards, even at the local level. Although meeting all European standards might not mean a lot to the domestic market, the price of the nozzle probably will.

The G-Force was designed completely from scratch, according to Rod Carringer, vice president of sales and marketing at TFT. The goal was to build and sell a low-cost nozzle in the global market. The company designed the nozzle from scratch and engineered if form the bottom up.
Designing a nozzle for the global market is no easy task, according to Carringer, because there isn’t the same level of unity that we have hear in the States. Here, NFPA is the unifying standard. In Europe, are various standards by country, as well as municipalities within coutries.

Besides the G-Force nozzle, visitors to TFT’s booth at FDIC this year will see other innovations including many nozzles or monitors that feature electronics that allow them to be operated remotely. All in all, Carringer says attendees can expect to see 12 new products at the booth.

According to Carringer, growth areas for TFT right now include industrial applications, where the company designs customized valves that also feature electronics for industrial settings where the nozzles are often controlled remotely in a control room isolated from the hazard being mitigated.
