The City of Brousard (LA) will donate their 1997 Dodge Brush Truck to the Milton Volunteer Fire Department, reports 3 KATC.

The truck was custom built back in the late 1980s and refurbished a few times over the years with a new chassis being added in 1997. The truck carries 500 gallons of water and can pump and roll at the same time. The truck is a 4WD and has a winch installed on the front.

Currently Broussard is the only department that has a Brush unit which is utilized to cover Broussard, Youngsville, Milton and parts of the city of Lafayette. By adding this unit to the Milton Volunteer Fire Department, it will bring another unit to the Southside of the Parish. The north side of the parish is protected by the cities of Scott, Carencro, Judice, Duson all having Brush units.
