Kittanning PA Mayor Casts Deciding Vote To Repair Fire Truck

The Kittanning (PA) mayor cast the deciding vote to repair a leaky valve in a fire truck, after some contention comments from the council president.

The repairs are expected to run between $500 and $1,000. The city council voted on approving the maximum cost of $1,000. The vote was split. Gene Stephens, the company's fire chief, reminded the council that the budget includes $5,000 for fire truck repairs.

Another matter still on the table, was the proposal for the fire company to assume the $124,000 balance of the PA Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) loan and give the borough $100,000 in cash.
