Branciforte Fire Protection District has set a goal to raise $10,000 at its July 14 fundraiser, reports Silicon Valley Mercury News.
All proceeds will help the station build a structure to house rescue vehicles and on-duty firefighters.
This apparatus bay has been started behind the fire station. But, it remains a barren structure that is missing all essential elements.
Construction plans began in 2008, when the first district received a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for a $320,000 new Type 1 engine. The massive truck barely fit into the old foot barn in the station's backyard.
