The city council in Wichita Falls, Texas, has approved approximately $1.5 million in funding to purchase new equipment for the city fire department, according to a report from News Channel 6.
The report indicates that five new models of fire apparatus will be added including two pumpers, two grass trucks and the completion of one small brush truck. The city fire chief Bill Weske was quoted to say,"We do have some old equipment in our reserve fleet. One of them is a 1979 model, over 30 years old." He said that for some of their equipment, replacements are due.
Weske said,"This will improve our capabilities."
