The Conway Fire Department will pay $340,000 for a 1998 fire truck to replace their current model which is ten years old. The consideration of this replacement along with other fire equipment is major as the city shapes the current budget. The vehicle appears to be a perfect fit for the city’s need, according to the city's fire chief, but it will require some restoration before it can permanently reside at home in Conway, according to a report from The Sun News and WMBF.
The new truck will be restored by Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus, which specializes in refurbishing and selling used fire equipment.
